Over 8 years ago, I began my career in Nolensville and it didn't take long to fall in love with the area. Opening my own practice here is a dream come true. Now, as residents of Nolensville, my family and I are excited to continue this journey and serve the Nolensville community with the personalized care that only a hometown, the family-owned office can provide. Dr. Shields completed his undergraduate studies at Middle Tennessee State University in Murfreesboro, TN prior to finishing his studies at Southern College of Optometry in Memphis, TN, and graduating with honors. He received additional training in eye disease and surgical management at Bennett and Bloom Eye Centers in Kentucky and Indiana, as well as clinical rotations in Pediatrics, Vision Therapy, Low Vision, Contact Lenses, and Primary Care. He is a member of the American Optometric Association and the Tennessee Association of Optometric Physicians. He has been a member of the American Academy of Orthokeratology and Myopia Control, which emphasizes therapies to manage childhood nearsightedness. He is also a participating provider in the InfantSee program that provides a free exam to infants under 12 months of age.

Jessica Williams OD

Dr. Jessica was born and raised in San Diego, CA. As a child, her curiosity was piqued as she watched her father practicing optometry. Growing in her love for the profession more and more over the years, she decided her path in college when she started out as a Technician in an Optometry/Ophthalmology practice in Reno, NV.

She attended the University of Nevada-Reno where she obtained her Bachelor of Science, Biology degree. Then, she was off to Texas where she went to Optometry school at the University of Incarnate Word, Rosenberg School of Optometry and received her Doctorate degree in Optometry. Immediately after Optometry school, she moved to Florida with her husband, Steven, where she lived and practiced for 2 years and even welcomed their first child, Andrew James! In December of 2024, they moved to Tennessee to be closer to family. Dr. Jessica is excited to become a part of the Nolo Eye Care family, where she can further develop her passion for the eye care field. She hopes to become a trusted doctor to her future patients, focusing on not only caring for their eyes, but for their overall health as well!
